The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Joseph Szmidt of New Windsor, N.Y., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Willard Warren Crose of Maryville, Tenn. He attended the University of South Carolina and graduated with a marketing degree from Midlands Technical College. He is employed by CoStar Group in Washington, D.C.
