Mettie Creel Prosser, 85, widow of McLendon Prosser, died Tuesday, May 12, 2009, in a Florence hospital. Mrs. Prosser was born in Johnsonville, a daughter of the late Eddie E. and Susan Emma Prosser Creel. She was a retired Pentecostal Holiness Minister having served for 15 years as the Pastor of Willow Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church in Evergreen and was a member of the Prospect Pentecostal Holiness Church. Surviving are her children, Eddie Ruth Prosser Jordan of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Helen Jennet Prosser Huggins of Darlington, SC, Ronald Ray Prosser of Johnsonville, SC, Patricia Prosser Clark of Turbeville, SC, and Tereyl D. Prosser of Hemingway, SC; sister, Delcie Eaddy of Coward, SC; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Prosser was predeceased by a son, McCray “Mack” Prosser; three sisters, Mellissa Fennell, Earline Hanna and Eloise Cagle; three brothers, Harvey Creel, Jim Creel and John H. Creel. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2009, in the Prospect Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be in the Prosser Cemetery near Hannah, SC. The family will receive friends at the Prospect Pentecostal Holiness Church, 211 N.
